This week, A Song of Faith turns our attention to baptism and Holy Communion. Baptism welcomes us into the community of faith, while communion renews us at Christ’s table. Together, we reflect on how these sacred practices remind us of God’s grace, renew our faith, and invite us to live with that grace through love, welcome, and hope.
Join us as we continue exploring A Song of Faith (2006).
A Song of Faith is a faith statement that was adopted by The United Church of Canada. While most faith statements are concise, the song of faith meanders, weaving in and out of faithful concepts that our church upholds. It was meant to capture a more poetic or responsive understanding of faith. We tend to form our beliefs somewhere between our relationships, experiences, reflections on scripture, practices of church rituals, and traditions. Our faith is often more fluid, less rigid than most faith statements allow.
This summer, the weekly short video reflections will be exploring a section of this song. By the end of the summer, you will have had a chance to reflect on many of the various elements that it offers us.
