In the second week of Advent, we hear from John the Baptist. In the wilderness, dressed in wild clothing, John preaches about a new Messiah who will force all to repent! John demands that we clear the path for Christ. Thankfully, God doesn’t need a clear path, doesn’t need a straight line, doesn’t need us to be perfect. Thank God, Jesus shows up and shares a meal with us,  breaking bread and spilling wine. Christ offers us, his imperfect disciples, peace. Peace be with you!
