Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Jan. 18 – Jan. 25

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins on Wednesday, January 18 and continues through to Wednesday, January 25.  The theme for 2017 is Reconciliation – The Love of Christ Compels Us (2 Corinthians 5:14-20). Use the Daily Scripture and Prayer Guide to join with Christians around the world praying “that all may be one… that the world may believe” (John 17:21).

Plan to begin the week with a guided labyrinth walk on Wednesday, January 18. There will be three opportunities to walk; a guided walk from 3:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 8:00 pm or walk alone from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, January 25, we close with a prayer vigil from 3:00 – 3:30 and 7:00 – 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Carolling in the Pines – great night! Christmas spirit is alive and well in North Leaside! A big thank you to everyone helping with this event – the Metropolitan Silver Band, 132nd Scouts, Song Leader Steve Jarvis, Northlea United Church Elves, Santa, and everyone in the community who came out! This year, proceeds from this event will be going to Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office to help with their women and children’s work, alleviating childhood poverty.
