The Refugee Response Group organized a Summer Bike Drive this year in co-operation with Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office (TNO). The aim was to collect bikes and present them to TNO for distribution to refugee families in the area covered by TNO. We would like to say Thank You to all those who made a contribution to this drive which resulted in a total of 40 bikes being collected for use by refugee families. Contributions came from a condominium building having a clear-out to individuals gifting long loved bikes to this great cause. Contributions ranged from road bikes to children’s bikes. Thanks to the staff at Northlea United Church who allowed temporary storage of the bikes while being collected. Pictures show the bikes awaiting dispatch to TNO.
