Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Jan. 18 – Jan. 25

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins on Wednesday, January 18 and continues through to Wednesday, January 25.  The theme for 2017 is Reconciliation – The Love of Christ Compels Us (2 Corinthians 5:14-20). Use the Daily Scripture and Prayer Guide to join with Christians around the world praying “that all may be one… that the world may believe” (John 17:21).

Plan to begin the week with a guided labyrinth walk on Wednesday, January 18. There will be three opportunities to walk; a guided walk from 3:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 8:00 pm or walk alone from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. On Wednesday, January 25, we close with a prayer vigil from 3:00 – 3:30 and 7:00 – 7:30 in the sanctuary.

A Winter Solstice Walk on the Labyrinth – Wednesday, December 21, 7:00 p.m.

Join Lee-Ann for a quiet, candle lit, walking meditation, on her indoor labyrinth, Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:00. The labyrinth is not a maze, it is a path painted on canvas and laid on the floor. The path leads, with concentric circles, to the center. The same path leads you out so there is no ‘getting lost’. When you walk, you allow the busyness of your mind to clear away. If you have never walked and are unsure of what to do, don’t worry, there will be guidance and support as you need it. Our gathering will include readings and reflections, candle lighting and prayer.
